Christmas in FW

We had such a fun Christmas day! When we got to FW we had a delicious steak lunch, opened lots of gifts, had a Happy Birthday Jesus cake, played with our toys, played outside in the snow(kids and husbands), and enjoyed being with our family.

Here are a few pictures from the day. The second one is our best attempt at a family picture! I also put in a couple of my mom's beautiful decorations and table.

Amy and Jonathan headed home after dinner and we spent the night. The next day Brett and I got to go see a movie while the kids stayed with my parent's and then we went home later that night.

Thanks Nana and Pawpaw for a wonderful Christmas!

Christmas Morning

On Christmas morning Caroline and Caleb woke up around 7:30. I think Caroline had forgotten that Santa was supposed to have come but Caleb opened his door and yelled "It's Christmas time!". They ran downstairs to see if Santa had eaten the cookies and to see what he brought them. They were so excited about everything, it was so sweet! So funny how Caroline was more interested in her nail polish in her stocking than her baby doll! We had a relaxing morning of opening gifts, eating breakfast, and playing with our new toys. After a while, we got dressed and left to go over to FW to see our family.

Christmas Eve

On the 23rd Caleb, Caroline, and I headed over to FW to hang out with my family. That night we went to Amy and Jonathan's for dinner and then went to Casa to see Santa Claus is Coming to Town. Caleb was a little confused b/c he thought it was going to be a movie but, once we cleared that up they both seemed to like it! Brett came over to FW after work that night. Sadly, I have no pictures from this fun night!

On Christmas Eve we hung out all day at my parent's house and kept watching the weather b/c it had started snowing that morning! We had plans to go to church and then out to dinner but, once we got on the road to church we realized that it might be best to not go. So, Brett and I decided to go ahead and go back to our house so we'd be there on Christmas morning. We left FW at 5:15 and it normally takes us 1 hour to get home but, instead took us a little over 2 hours! It was crazy! Once we finally made it home we changed into our pj's, ate pizza, and watched The Polar Express. We sat out cookies and chocolate milk for Santa and then all headed to bed to wait for Santa to arrive!

Here are a few pictures Brett took in my parent's front yard on Christmas Eve. It was like a blizzard--snow and lots of wind! The kids kept begging to go outside but once we did they lasted 30 seconds b/f wanting to go back inside!

Pancake Pajama Party

Our friends Karissa, Lauren, and Claire had a pajama pancake party the week of Christmas. It was so fun to see the kids in their pj's and they all had a blast playing with their friends and eating some yummy pancakes! And, I enjoyed visiting with my mommy friends before everyone was heading off to celebrate Christmas with their families. I forgot my camera but Courtney sent this picture she took of all of the kids. So cute!

Breakfast at the Gaylord

On Sunday morning we woke up and went to the Gaylord to meet everyone for breakfast. After breakfast we walked around and saw all of the beautiful Christmas decorations and trains and took lots of pictures. After we enjoyed seeing the Gaylord we said goodbye to our family because they all had to head home. We were sad to see them go but we had a great weekend celebrating!

Polar Express

After spending the afternoon at our house we all headed over to Grapevine to ride the Polar Express. It started out with a little program and then we boarded the train. On the train we listened to a story, sang some songs, and then Santa came through! After the train ride we all had dinner at Fire Side Pies. It was such a fun night with our family!

Work Christmas Party

Brett's work always throws a fun kids Christmas party. This year they had it at a place that had bounce houses, carnival games, food, and Santa! Caleb and Caroline loved jumping in the bounce house and having a chance to tell Santa what they want for Christmas. And, Santa even had a gift for each kid. Caleb got a play golf set and Caroline got a lion cub that makes noise and falls asleep. It was a fun morning although I think the kids think that's where daddy goes to work each day!

Singing (and fighting) Shepherds

Last night Caleb and Caroline were in a Christmas program for their preschool. The 3's were shepherds and sang while the 4's were all different characters and had some speaking parts. It was precious! However, Caroline and the boy next to her decided to get in a full on fight in the MIDDLE of the program! I could tell they were not saying kind words to each other and kept pointing, etc. Hilarious but also made me a little nervous that she would smack him! The pictures below are kind of hard to see but in the first one Caroline is on the top row and on the second one she has been moved down to the bottom row. Nice. Nana and Pawpaw came to see the performance. My dad said that at least we know she can stick up for herself. I agree--I don't think that will ever be a problem for our sweet Caroline.

Lunch with Santa

This past Sunday we met my family for lunch with Santa. We do this every year and it's always a fun treat. We took a couple of pictures of the kids with their cousins before lunch. All of the kids loved seeing Santa and we had no tears this year! Caroline told Santa she wanted a doll but then told me she had to go back and tell him she had changed her mind-she decided she wanted a Belle doll like her cousin Maddie! So funny! Caleb told Santa he wanted a talking Buzz Lightyear. No surprise--he's totally obsessed with Toy Story! After lunch we hung out at Nana and Pawpaw's and let the kids play a while. It was a fun day!

Thanks Nana and Pawpaw!

Thankful

We had a great Thanksgiving this year! Caleb and Caroline loved playing with their cousins, we ate a ton, and had lots of time to visit with our family. We were horrible about taking pictures but here are a few of the kids playing. I think it has taken them all week to catch up from playing so hard!

Do Lord

Yesterday Caleb and Caroline sang "Do Lord" in big church with the preschool choir. When did my babies get big enough to sing in church? Anyways, they all did such a good job and it was precious to watch! Nana and Pawpaw came to see them sing and then we went to lunch with them. What a fun Sunday!

The pictures aren't very good and have other parent's heads in them but they still all look so cute!
